Design of the vacuum treadmill

The diploma thesis concerns with the design of the vac- uum treadmill. The aim was to create a vision of this machine for the near future. As the final result we en- counter a brand new conception, consisting of the outer stable base, inner tilting base, upper frame with steel handle, control panel and airtight bellows. The design includes 3 different colour schemes. The first part of the thesis analyses the historical de- velopment and construction and design solutions. The second part describes this particular design project in detail, including its development.

This bachelor thesis concerns mobile application development for Windows Phone 7 platform focused on lifestyle changes and dealing with problems concerning weight, physical condition and appearance. The application uses built-in modules of modern mobile phones like GPS navigation, high resolution camera and Internet connection. The application development description starts from general introduction of the issue, through description of main features of the platform Windows Phone 7, concrete architecture of the application and solution of implementation problems, to description of methods and tools used for the design and planning, library and third-party framework description.
Nutrition at sports with weight categories

This bachelor thesis is focused on diets in sports with weight categories. The main goal is to find out about the diets of the professional athletes before the official weighting, what methods of weight reduction these athletes use and whether they experience any negative effects of the diet on their health. Theoretical part focuses on the information about weight categories, nutrition recommendations for particular athletes, forms of weight reduction and human body composition analysis. The practical part is divided into two researches. The first research is carried out in the form of a quantitative questionnaire, in which the respondents provide information on dietary habits and their presence in the weight category. The second research focuses on five light-weight rowers, whose body composition information is compared in the non-competitive and competitive period. The questionnaire has been filled in by 103 competitors from 9 different sports with weight categories. Some outputs are quite worrying, or even alarming. Only less than one third of the respondents races in their category without major weight fluctuations or greater dietary restrictions. This bachelor thesis deals with the use TRX in basketball. The theoretical part focuses on the creation, development, description, and what it is not TRX. Why is this new and modern way to fit exercise in basketball training. This bachelor thesis acquaints us with basketball in general, with movements that are performed in basketball and the muscles that are involved in these movements. Conclusion The theoretical part contains exercises for each muscle group, their strengthening and stretching that are most involved in basketball and deep stabilization system. In the research section, we used the method of acquiring data through a questionnaire survey, which confirms / not confirmed defined hypotheses. The social pressure to have slim and shaped body present in public places

Bachelor thesis is trying to concrete the pressure to have slim and shaped body which is present in public places. Theoretical sources of the text are terms of Elias Canetti - order and judgement, and terms of Theodor W. Adorno - standardization and competition. The text is trying to answer, how the character of these terms looks like in the context of the pressure to have slim and shaped body. The methodology is qualitative research based on fieldnotes from walking through the city. The main findings of the text are that the main characteristic of order in context of social pressure to have slim and shaped body is unambiguity and the fact that the order instructs the way. For judgement is typical the evaluation and dividing people into two group based on their size Competition is present in competing in slimming, in competiting of beauty and in the advantages of helping to make the slim and shaped body easier. In standardization there is important the change in appearance of human body and the information that other people are involved in having a slim and shaped body
Risks associated with weight loss diets

The theoretical part of this theses called "Risks associated with weight loss diets" deals with obesity, its causes and consequences as well as low-calorie diets, low-carbohydrate diets and low-fat diets. Their basic characteristics and evaluation follow. In this part, a summary the positives and negatives of these diet approaches and their potential risks that may endanger the patient's health can be found, too. In the practical part, a qualitative research which was attended by five female respondents is described. The respondents suffer from overweight or obesity and they are of the age from 22 to 51 years old. Our goal was to reduce their weight within four months. Moreover, it was intended to reduce an adipose tissue while maintaining the most of muscle tissue. This goal was reached by using a low-calorie diet with the balance of essential nutrients and the inclusion of appropriate regular physical activity. The first respondent managed to lose 8.7 kg. Her loss of fat tissue had a weight of 7.1 kg and there was an increase of anhydrous lean body mass by 0.2 kg. The second respondent lost her weight by 1.3 kg. After that she subsequently gained 3.3 kg. Then again she lost her weight by 3 kg. The resulting diference of the researches before and after was the decrease of body weight by 0.5 kg. There was the loss of lean body mass by 0.9 kg (0.2 kg of which was the loss of anhydrous lean body mass) and the increase of adipose tissue by 0.4 kg. Also the third respondent according to Bodystat device lost her weight by 0.5 kg (0.1 kg of body fat and 0.4 kg of lean body mass). However, there was an increase of anhydrous lean body mass by 0.2 kg. The fourth respondent managed to lose 4 kg in three months but the research was not completed due to unplanned pregnancy. The fifth respondent reduced her weight by 8 kg - about 7.2 kg of adipose tissue and 0.8 kg of lean body mass (0.2 kg of which was the loss of an anhydrous lean body mass). In conclusion, the two respondents were successfull in losing their amount of adipose tissue. One respondent was able to lose her anhydrous lean body mass and gain adipose tissue. One respondent gained especially anhydrous lean body mass and the last respondent did not finish the research.
